MINI Cooper S Under NHTSA Investigation in US Over Engine Fires

The small car made by BMW, Mini Cooper S is currently on the list of cars over engine fires involving. National Highway Safety Institute (NHTSA) United States claimed 36 thousand Mini Cooper S models from 2007 to 2008 included in the investigation. As reported by caradvice, Tuesday, October 18, 2011, an investigation was made after it received 12 complaints from owners of car Mini Cooper S. In fact, the entire complaint, five cars were burned.

Surprisingly, a fire occurred when the ignition key is in the off position. However, until now there were no reports that calls have been the victim of an accident or injury caused by that problem.

NHTSA continues to conduct an investigation to discover the main causes of these fires. He said he suspected a component disability  in the car. All the cars that were investigated were sold in the United States, which consists of three variants. Namely the Mini Cooper S models 2007, 2007 Mini Cooper S Convertible, and Mini Clubman Edition 2008.
