2012 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe

One of the most common excuses used by someone to devalue a proposal of the Mercedes-Benz is senescent and conservative nature of the design and profile of models inside and out. The German company did not let pass unnoticed the aspersion in recent years, while maintaining the premium item, but making the sport more prominent part in connection with models of the past. The definition of the policy and the perfect combination of sports-hunky dory and logical requirements (maintenance costs) car is reflected in the C-Class Coupé namely C180 BE our test.

The elegant model based on the sedan brother, but having lower in-4 cm-roof, sharper design and impressive technology luminaires LED. The dimensions remain the same as the German sedan with a length reaching 4.59 meters and the luggage not in any way resembles coupe, it possesses 450 liters without moving the rear seats. The sporty nature and lower ceiling are visible to the driver’s seat when it exceeds 1.80 m in height, as the head begins to be dangerously close to the ceiling (and a reason to feel that my height is good after all). The rear passengers (exactly two in number) would squeeze unless it has been great height, while for small objects there are several holders, the latter opened a clever way to justify the reputation.

In the same wavelength, fancy instrument panel, with three separate instruments and the three-spoke steering wheel to give enough points in the image of C-Coupé, as well as practical and elegant system for multimedia, which illuminates the center console and complete the “I” of every modern gadgets. All are there some who wait, but moves to impress but only substance and plenty of style. And, we talked about substance, it is high time to mention the heart of the C180 Coupé, the turbocharged engine with an output 1.800ari 156 horsepower, which moves with characteristic ease of 1,425 pounds. For argument’s sake, even in the operation ECO, where the concern of the engine to save petrol by reducing the consumption of close to 8 litres/100 km, the C180 Coupé shows no delay in pressing the accelerator.

The six-speed transmission has the correct scaling for balance between performance and fuel economy, while the gearshift may want a little extra effort to latch, but it leaves a positive feeling. The wheel of rear-wheel drive coupe has a faster reset when you move into the challenging streets of the city, but it would be unfair not to mention the improvements introduced in this area compared to its predecessors. Another area that leaves a positive impression of the driver and passengers are handling, as-standard in all versions-Agility Control, taking each time the vehicle speed is high to stiffen regulation of suspension, and correspondingly low speeds (ie in the city) to automatically softens for comfort.

So far so good, the expected “spike” but in these cases is the purchase price. In the case of C180 BE Coupé the price is 39.900 €, with less technology and more daily physical demands (gasoline, fees, overheads). But times have changed and there are few who would put their hands so deep in the pocket, leaving, however, winners (respectively the BMW 320 Coupé with 170 bhp costs 42.400 €) by purchasing the four-seater model of Mercedes-Benz.
