Iola Car Show 2011 – Delightful Dodges & DeSotos

With theme “Delightful Dodges & DeSotos.”, the 2011 Iola Car Show and Swap Meet was those Dodge and DeSoto owners came from all over the country to display their cars at the annual event. It is one of the top ten car shows in the country. The “Delightful Dodges & DeSotos” display was the famous Blue Ribbon Concourse where over 400 vintage classics and collector cars are displayed each year. Altogether there are about 2,200 show cars on display, 1979 and older. It is true that for the past 38 years most people come to the show from all around the country because it is one of the best swap meets anywhere. It was started and promoted by Krause Publications, publishers of collector books world wide. About 4,400 swap spaces are sold to vendors who will display everything from classic body panels to die cast cars and tee shirts. The car corral area had room for 1,000 cars, from projects to six-figure collector cars. The promoters say that about 120,000 spectators and swap meet goers were at the show this weekend.
