Last April Daimler car to create a product for a program called economical vehicle, Car2go. Car2go now has a presence in Vancouver.

Car2go presence in Vancouver is considered to be very useful as a vehicle for daily mobility. Daimler has provided 225 units Car2go fuel-efficient and low emissions to meet the demand for rental beginning June 18 last.

Over the last two months produced approximately 2000 people of Vancouver have been registered and received their membership cards in this economical car program. And now they have been able to ride Car2go to traverse the streets of Vancouver.

After a very positive response, Car2go has extended the registration period for free (which represents the value of CAD35) until the 3rd of July. As a sustainable transport options, Car2go also plays a role in the City of Vancouver goal to become ‘green city’ in the world by 2020.

Car2go vehicles available for rent can be viewed on the internet or with smartphone applications and can be used as long as necessary.

Rent can only be ended by leaving the vehicle in any particular area that has been determined, as in some parking lots in downtown or residential neighborhood in the business area, or in one of the special car2go.

Members pay a usage by calculating the cost per minute usage in a day, or you can also count a few hours in a day. Prices are determined per minute or even a few hours it already includes the cost of fuel, parking, mileage, insurance, maintenance and GPS navigation.

Car2go now has a global network of more than 40,000 members with a stock of 1,000 units of this smart vehicle. This program will further expand in other cities of North America and Europe in 2011.
