Traditionally, buyers have a Cadillac V8-loving bunch. In the last ten years, the V6 in the trend, but the four-cylinder engine never really the debate – until now. Car and Driver reports that Cadillac will be four-cylinder engines with turbochargers offer in the ATS and XTS. C / D believed that the engine of choice could be the 2.0-liter turbo, currently living under the hood of the Buick Regal.
Based on the current and (known) future applications of the 2.0-liter turbo expect output somewhere, 220-260 hp, even though we probably bet that could be even more production in store. We would not be surprised if the full-size XTS by a supercharged version of the 2.5-liter four-cylinder that will soon be under the hood, the 2013 Malibu. For example, General Motors still offer 300-plus hp out of a drive train that is probably more efficient than comparable performance of the automaker’s offer V6. Cadillac also help push northward performance and further improve fuel efficiency and plug-in hybrid powertrain.
While smaller engines unavoidable in the world of high gas prices and increased fuel economy standards to give you Cadillac fans a four-pot mill or purchase a challenge. But if gas prices continue north charging, we recommend some consumers actually the diminutive power to accept with open arms. If that happens, we can expect the next generation of Cadillac CTS and SRX with a four-cylinder option as well.
